Metal effect stoneware: oxides and burnished surfaces that never really rust

The appeal of metal lies in its oxidation: rust, burnishing, iron staining. But real metal keeps on oxidising, marks feet and fabrics, and in a bathroom it is unmanageable. Metal effect stoneware freezes that look at its best moment and turns it into a stable, washable surface with water absorption below 0.5%.

Where it works best

It is a material with character: used on every wall of a room it can feel heavy, whereas on a single wall, behind a kitchen worktop or in a commercial space it says a great deal. It is often paired with a concrete or wood effect floor, which softens the contrast. Pairing it with the concrete effect.

Dark surfaces and real upkeep

Very dark surfaces show limescale and fingerprints more readily: in a bathroom or a kitchen it is better to choose them in a natural rather than a polished finish, and to use a neutral detergent that leaves no film. Sizes, joints and quantities
